Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan (or ILL) is a service that enables patrons to borrow materials from
other libraries that are not available at their home library.

ILL requests in academic libraries are most commonly made for books and journal articles. However, your home library may or may not also place requests for other types of materials.

After checking the local online catalog and confirming that your home library does NOT own a particular item, you should then connect with the reference librarian to see whether or not interlibrary loan is available.

Depending on your home library, ILL request forms may be available in print or online form. There may or may not be a fee tied to the service.
