Technical Requirements for the SWITCH Information Literacy Tutorials

Get Ready ...

Before you begin, make sure you have the following technical requirements for viewing the SWITCH Information Literacy tutorials. If you have any other problems, contact the SWITCH office by email or at 414-351-2423. There are text-only versions of all tutorials located off the main index page for the given tutorial. The exception to this is the Finding Articles tutorial which offers a "lite graphics" version at this time.

1Browser Requirements
You'll need at least Firefox 1.0 or Internet Explorer 5.0 to use the tutorials. Keep in mind that you can download a higher version for free.

2. Screen Resolution
If possible set your screen resolution to 1024 x 768 using the Control Panel settings for your computer.

3. Maximize your Browser Window.
You may want to maximize the browser window before starting the tutorial. The will help insure that all tutorial content is viewable.

4.  Flash Player
To experience all the effects, you'll need the Shockwave Flash player, a free application that enhances your browser and makes the site interactive. If you can see the animation below you already have the player. If you cannot see anything, go to the Macromedia Flash Player Download Center and follow their downloading instructions.
