Liaison

Charge

1. To serve as an ambassador for the section at selected meetings, presentations, and programs of ALA and its divisions
2. To maintain and publicize to DLS membership lists of committee meetings, programs, and discussion group meetings related to distance learning taking place at the ALA Annual Conference and ALA Midwinter meeting
3. To advise the DLS Executive Committee on outreach issues and strategies and to forward recommendations and opportunities on collaborative partnerships within ALA
4. To help the Communications Committee publicize to other organizations any effective practices for distance learning library services developed by the Section
5. To promote the visibility of the section through distribution of the DLS brochure to other organizations
6. To identify associations outside the library profession for collaboration in activities related to mutual interests
7. To work with commercial vendors in the distance learning arena on appropriate issues to foster discussion and research
8. Review committee charge annually
