ACRL Distance Learning Section Web Committee Meeting Minutes 17 June 2001

Present: Jack Fritts (chair), Kate Adams, Marissa Cachero, Nicole Campbell, Billie Peterson and Rebecca Sedam.

Absent: Rick Bean, Andrew Corrigan, Colleen Cuddy, April Purcell Levy, Srivalli Rao, Beth Reiten and Patricia Wilson.

Review of Minutes from meeting on January 14, 2001: Motion was made to approve the minutes by Nicole Campbell and seconded by Marissa Cachero. Minutes were approved.

Liaison Activities: The liaisons met with their respective groups to discuss what the Web committee could do for them, to determine whether their rosters were correct and to collect minutes to post on the Web site.
Reports from the Committees:

• Instruction: Jack met with this group. They will send their minutes to Beth. They also have some bibliographies to post.
  
• Guidelines: Jack met with this group. They want to post a form on the web site.
  
• Electronic Resources: Becky met with this group. They will look over their list of resources to make sure links are still working and to ensure a consistent look.
  
• Liaison: Marissa met with this group and they will send things to her. They are exploring the idea of posting other ALA distance-related events on the site.
  
• Program Planning 2002: Billie met with this group and they will send minutes to her. They are creating a flyer for their program that can be posted in the future.
  
• Research: Kate met with this group. There will be a new survey to be done at the OFFCAMP conference.
  
• Statistics: Marissa met with this group. Noted that two things that were posted are not currently on the site.
  
• Strategic Planning: Marissa met with this group. They will send minutes to her. Have some other documents that they would like to post.
  
• Membership: Nicole met with this group and they will forward minutes to her. They have some suggested changes to the DLS brochure. They also provided some suggested changes to the DLS web site.
  
• Communications: Nicole met with this group and they will forward minutes to her. Would like to see the DLS brochure posted on the site.

Discussion:
Rebecca has not been able to receive any messages to the group's listserv. Please copy Rebecca with anything sent to the list.

Items that other committees would like posted on the site should be sent to their liaisons. The liaisons can convert these to html before sending on to Rebecca.

Each member should tell the chairs of their liaison committees that we can supply logo images to them.
