Peer-Reviewed

The phrase "peer review" refers to journals that put submitted articles through a scholarly process of review by other professionals in a given field, as well as the periodical's editor. An article is typically only accepted after receiving approval by the author's "peers." This process is also known as "refereeing," and helps ensure quality control in scholarly journals.
